Settling a Score and Solo Conquering Mount Sherman

Laura_Selfie_Atop_Mount_Sherman

On Friday, I headed to work a little bit more loaded down than usual. While I was wearing my normal Friday business casual outfit, my car was loaded down with quite a few other clothing options: leggings, fleece pants, some long sleeve tees, a turtle neck, a fleece jacket, a rain jacket… and a sleeping bag and tent. I was embarking on my first solo camping/hiking expedition! Kind of like when I ran my first marathon, it is weird to me to think that I would be so outdoorsy as to go solo camping. I always thought that was for …

Giveaway: Soybu Activewear

TheSoybuStory

On a semi-related note to my post yesterday about trying new things… When Adam and I went camping in Arizona, I spent the weekend wearing a new-to-me brand. Soybu is a clothing brand that I first heard about at the Blend Retreat, where they gave us an awesome pair of compression leggings as part of our swag bag. So nice! I loved how snugly they fit and how great they make my legs look, without being too tight to be unattractive or uncomfortable. Looking into the brand after the retreat, I learned they were a Denver-based company. Hooray for local …

Getting My Greens In On Green Mountain

Green_Mountain_Summit

For the last few days this week, I’ve been eagerly awaiting my Saturday morning plans to go hiking up Green Mountain. But when I woke up this morning after not-quite-enough sleep, the thought of hiking sounded terrible. I didn’t want to get out of bed just yet, but I had brunch plans with a friend at 12:30pm. Green Mountain is supposed to take 3-4 hours (and I am usually on the tail end for any hiking estimates of how long a route will take), so I needed to be on the trail by 7am in order to be assuredly done …

Fitness Inspiration: Hiking, Friends, and a Lot of Muddy Fun

Trail_Running_Down_Sanitas

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Mudderella. I received complimentary admission to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. Yesterday I wrote about what a blast Adam and I had running the Bolder Boulder this weekend. But as much fun as we had, walking the race made me kind of wistful. So many people were having so much fun running, and I wished we could do the same! I still am honestly not sure what’s up with my foot – some days it hurts a lot, …
