Sponsored Giveaway: Balance Bar Summer Shape Up

Balance Bare Bars

I wrote yesterday about my wonderful weekend at Blend Retreat, and how happy I was to be outside getting exercise with my friends. Honestly, exercise is actually something I’ve been stressing out a lot about lately. As much as I like to think that this weekend was “typical”, it’s really more typical of how I was last year. Lately, I haven’t really been as active as I would like, in part because I’m finding it hard to get into a routine and make healthy eating/exercise my norm instead of something I have to fight for. I was talking about my diet/exercise …

Conference Recap: Blend 2015

Chautauqua_Trails

Adam and I spent this weekend apart, with him in Phoenix and me staying in Colorado. Fortunately, even though I missed him a lot, I was able to stay pretty busy attending the Blend Retreat. While I’ve traveled to Park City, Utah for the last two years of Blend, this year I got to stay right in my own house and just drive 15 minutes up the road to Chatauqua Park in Boulder! Out of nowhere on Thursday morning, while walking barefoot across the tiled floor of TSA at Denver Airport, my right foot started hurting. I hadn’t stumbled, and it felt kind of like a cramp, so I just ignored it… …

Weekend Recap: Finding my Groove

Halfway Up Bear Peak with Adam

Happy Monday! This was a great weekend, and I felt like I really started finding my groove with balancing all the many things going on in my life. I headed to San Francisco for work on Thursday, and flew back on Friday night. However, instead of arriving solo at the airport and then driving home for a quiet night by myself… Adam and I timed our flights so we’d both land in Denver at about the same time and get to head home together! I’ve never had anyone meet me at the airport when I got home from a trip, …

Fact: I Work Out to Improve My Body

Fitbit_Workout_Screenshot

I came across this article last week: The F*ed Up Thing So Many Fitness Instructors Do. After reading, I was rather annoyed by it. I intended to write a fiery post shortly thereafter, but ended up not having the time. However, after I shared it in my Links I Love yesterday and Becky commented, I decided it was worth my time to draw a bit more attention to it. The article starts by quoting an (admittedly rude) comment from a fitness instructor, who is yelling at his/her class that if they don’t get rid of their belly, they’ll never get an engagement …
