Today my student loan balance is officially under $20k – that means I’ve paid off $10k since January! The market may be crashing down around me but I’m still doing okay financially. Now, to celebrate with a nice (but inexpensive) bottle of wine tonight 🙂 We’re having a health fair at work so I got my cholesterol tested as a follow-up to my doctor’s visit in April. Here are my numbers:Total Cholesterol = 156 (desirable is under 200)HDL = 37 (this is too low; should be at least 40, with the more the better)LDL = 97 (100-129 is desirable; optimum …
While the really great runners are struggling to break 3 hours in a marathon, I still haven’t done a sub-4. Yesterday, however, I found the 3:00 mark to be extremely important – it was the cutoff time for the NYRR Staten Island Half-Marathon, and I was hard-pressed to hit it. However, 50 days is a really long time, and seems like kind of a daunting task! I’ve been trying to eat raw vegan lately, and I’ve been doing pretty well on the vegan front, but not so much on the raw front. It’s really hard to eat raw vegan at restaurants or with friends, and at home, there are just many times when I want …
All right, it’s done: I am officially moved out of my old apartment and moved in with the boy. It’s clearly a great idea to move in together before you even have “the talk” to define yourselves as being in a relationship. Don’t you hate “the talk”? I always feel like I’m a little kid in grade school passing a note that reads “will you be my boyfriend? Check yes or no” (note: I did not do that, but the only reason I didn’t was because I was way too dorky and I knew the answer would be no if …
