Weekend Update – Workout in the Park

All of that going out I did on Wednesday and Thursday turned out to be only a precursor to what was to come – what a busy weekend! Friday, after that insanely ridiculous workshop on getting ahead in my career by turning myself into a secretary from the 50s, I went out with some understanding coworkers for a “Cinco de Mayo + 1” celebration. None of them had been in the workshop, but they were just as appalled as I had been when I told them what had happened and read them some of the quotes. That made me feel …

Psyching myself up, blog-style

The days of not having a full-time project are so up and down! I feel like I could pretty much just duplicate my post from a few weeks ago, “One day up, one day down” – yesterday I was super busy and productive, and today… not so much. Yesterday, I headed into the office, because I was going to be doing some client interviews and wanted to use a landline instead of my cell phone. Hey, techies – would love to hear your thoughts on this. When I had a basic Verizon flip phone, I got great service, and my …

Red letter start to the weekend

Yesterday, I started getting back on a productive kick. I woke up and immediately knocked out my Insanity workout (review to come soon!), and then got cleaned up to go into work. Before heading to the office though, I met up with Lysa of Chopt for an interview. Chopt was one of my favorite lunchtime spots when I was down in DC, and they also have locations in NYC – so glad I didn’t have to give that up! While we’re talking about reviews to come, expect a full review of Chopt to come this week – perfect for all …

Weekend in Review

As I mentioned yesterday, I had started writing a “weekend in review” post to cover all the fun stuff I did on my first full weekend back in NYC, but that ended up getting trumped by the incredible Boston Marathon. If you didn’t get to watch the race live, be sure to check out yesterday’s post for a recap on the unbelievable elite races. But now, back to my regularly scheduled weekend in review… On Friday, we had a women’s event at work that was absolutely fantastic. Since our acquisition, most of our affinity groups and office events have fallen …

Reclaiming My Cardio Queen Crown

This weekend, as previously mentioned, I ate a lot. For example, on my way out of Paris on Monday, I may have had more than one or two buttery croissants – they were just too delicious to resist! But while the taste was delicious and something to be remembered, the calories were not – and this trip was just the impetus I needed to start changing around my diet/exercise plan yet again. While I absolutely loved Rachel Cosgrove’s Female Body Breakthrough for the amazing gains in strength it’s given me, my diet is just not good enough to get by …
