Will Run for Tasti D

On Wednesday nights from 8-9 PM, I go down to the gym and watch Crowned on the elliptical. Crowned is a really cheesy and embarrassing reality show on the WB, so my only justification for watching is if I do it on the elliptical. However, tonight when I went down, all the ellipticals were taken. And I’m way too embarrassed to head over to the treadmill area, where the TVs are communal, and ask everyone there if they mind if I put it on one of the three overhead TVs (the TVs on the ellipticals are those fancy ones that …

Healthy Meal: Zuppa Ossa Buco

Today’s lunchtime soup is brought to you by the fact that I had ground turkey going bad in my fridge, and this soup called for various ground meats, for which I figured I could substitute turkey. The recipe was supposed to make 4 bowls, and I cut it in half, therefore expecting to get 2 bowls. Instead, I got 3 large bowls of soup. I suppose I should have posted this on Tuesday morning, but I just discovered it today, and thought it might still be helpful for the weekend. All about hangovers, from Diet Detective. Race Report: Emerald Nuts Midnight Run

I am probably one of the first bloggers to be able to publish a race report for 2008… yay! On New Year’s Eve I did the Emerald Nuts Midnight Run, a 4 mile race sponsored by the New York Road Runners club. The twist was, I did a version of Beer Mile and attempted to take a shot for each mile of the four mile race. Here’s a list of top 10 do’s and don’ts in case you have any inclination to try something similar. DO pick a liquor that is tasty. Straight vodka, though it has the advantage of …

New Year’s Resolutions

88% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions, and only 20% succeed. Scary! Every year I make TONS of New Year’s resolutions for how I’m going to make my life better (told you I was a perfectionist). One year I made so many I couldn’t even remember all of them! Clearly that is not the way to join that 20%. In fact, this article on New Year’s resolutions fitness tips warns people to limit the number of resolutions you make. Although that article warns people to break your goal into smaller goals, I’ve never really been good with keeping the “everyday” …
