Weekend Recap: The End of 2017

Sump_Pump_Clearing_Water_From_Basement

The last week of 2017 was filled with a lot of mishaps – and yet, I didn’t consider it a bad week at all. I think that’s a pretty good representation of my year as a whole. I had some ups and downs, but for me, 2017 was most notable in that I developed a sense of optimism that got me through it all. That was definitely evident over the last week! My mom and I flew to Colorado on Christmas evening. As I already wrote to kick off last weekend’s recap, I promptly came down with strep throat on …

Weekend Recap: Merry Christmas!

Laura_And_Lars_Adelphi_Hotel_Saratoga

I’ve had this entire week off work, which has been glorious! Unfortunately, I’ve spent most of it on the couch, since waking up the day after Christmas super sick 🙁 On Tuesday and Wednesday, I woke up with a swollen throat, but it went away within 30 minutes of waking up (and having some throat coat tea, which I’ve loved since I was a musical theater kid). The research is woven into the narrative seamlessly, and the author’s tone is light and sarcastic, reminding me a lot of the hilarious Jen Lancaster. Highly recommend this …

Weekend Recap: Starting the Holiday Season

Christmas_Tree_Decorations

This was a super short weekend – but a festive one 🙂 On Thursday night, I was supposed to fly from Florida up to Saratoga, New York, to spend Friday with my family and then attend my brother’s holiday party that night. But on Monday, I was asked to lead a workshop on Friday that was coincidentally in Ithaca, New York. It cut my time with my family shorter, but it actually worked out pretty well. My mom was making the drive from Binghamton anyway, so she joined me for dinner on Thursday, and then drove us both from Ithaca …

Weekend Recap: Wheeling Around Town

Team_Suburban_Bachelorette_Party

Today was the first Monday in months that I haven’t had to fly somewhere – and it was amazing to just be able to work in Colorado rather than commuting across the country! I had an incredibly productive day, and was also able to squeeze in a few errands on breaks. And in anticipation of this ten day long stint in Colorado, I lined up a bunch of fun activities this weekend. Friday night was quiet – I stayed in, ran some errands, and went to bed early. But one of those errands was from my fall bucket list: I hit …
