Weekend Recap: Sleepless on Friendsgiving

Another week has flown by, and I still haven’t done my weekend recap! To be honest, I was pretty cranky this weekend. The East Coast travel is not sitting well with me lately, and even when I go to bed at midnight in Denver and don’t set an alarm the next morning, I still wake up at 5am 🙁 So much for me clearing my calendar to catch up on sleep! Friday night, though, I was out late for a really fun reason: to check out the Pancakes and Booze Art Festival. Essentially, a ton of local artists come together …

Weekend Recap: Home at Last

Goat_Cheese_Arugula_Stuffed_Pear_Salad

This has been a really busy week every night for me, but I still wanted to do a quick recap of last weekend before I embark on this weekend’s adventures – it was a good one! Last Thursday, rather than heading home to Denver, I instead flew to Vegas. My friend Elizabeth is getting married next spring and she wanted to do an early bachelorette party in Sin City! Laura_Whitewater_Kayaking_Success

This weekend was my first back in Colorado in seemingly forever, since I was only home for 18 hours last weekend. And as a bonus burst of excitement, this was a holiday weekend! My office is closed for a five day weekend (Saturday through Wednesday), and most people are taking off Thursday and Friday as well so I’ll probably only work a few hours each day and then take PTO for the rest. What a treat to be home and without (much) work for ten days straight! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been creating a “Colorado summer bucket list” …

Learning How to Create a Outdoor Living Space for Colorado Summers

Pottery_Barn_Dot_N_Dash_Outdoor_Rug

When I first moved into my house, I made a huge list of all the improvements I want to make, and kicked off with a massively expensive project to have the walk-out basement refinished. I’m glad I created a fabulous space there, but with my bank account dwindling, I recognized that I probably needed to space out the never-ending list of other upgrades I wanted to make. I decided that I would tackle one major project / area per year… and this year, I’m focusing on the yard and outdoor space. Two weeks ago, I had a consultation with a master …
