Weekend Recap: Sick or Lazy? / Workouts Lately

SheTech_Colorado_2019

Weekend of February 9-10 This is going to be a pretty short weekend recap… but after Friday night, there’s not a lot to report! Friday was a very big day for me at work. I’ve spent the last few months planning for SheTech Colorado, a one-day conference for high school girls to get them excited about careers in STEM, and Friday it all came to fruition! I was on tap to give some welcoming remarks in the beginning (right before our lieutenant governor!), then host a small group workshop on facial recognition technology before lunch, and finally judge the afternoon …

Gym Review: Chuze Fitness

Chuze_Turf_Area

We’re already one week into the New Year – how are your resolutions going? I made a few, though am still adding more. (And I will hopefully do a post on these soon.) I always love New Year’s because it means a fresh start and a time when I’m reminded to reflect on what I may want to change in my life. But I had forgotten that …

World_Stroke_Day_Take_2_Tell_2

Thank you to Medtronic for sponsoring this post. Medtronic works hard to bring effective stroke treatments to patients who need it most, and I’m really glad to see they are also proactively trying to get the word out about this silent killer. In the next week, there’s a holiday coming up that’s a lot scarier than Halloween. Sunday October 29 is World Stroke Day, and the World Stroke Organization and Medtronic are encouraging everyone to take just two minutes to learn about the signs of a stroke and then tell two people about those signs, as part of their Take …

Weekend Recap: A Surprisingly Pumpkin-y Good Time

Since I travel four days a week, I have to make the absolute most of my limited time at home. As a result, there is nothing I hate more than being home without any plans. So, I usually start planning my weekend on Monday or Tuesday, and if I don’t have a full roster of activities by Wednesday, I start getting a little anxious. This week was one of those times when I didn’t have a lot planned, and I thought it was going to be a lonely / bad weekend. However, it turned out to be one of my …
