Things are looking up

Yesterday was a pretty red letter day. Verizon told me that my phone would ship out on Monday morning with two day shipping. However, when I called them to get the tracking number, they told me it hadn’t been sent yet, but promised to send it Tuesday. I was a bit worried – they were shipping it to my Chicago hotel, and I would be flying out of Chicago on Thursday evening, so that left little room for delays! Imagine my surprise when I got home from the hotel on tonight to find the package waiting for me. I immediately …

News and updates

Oh yes, I’m here, just busy. I ran the Wall Street Run last week and have quite a story to tell there… but am optimistically hoping I’ll have time to write it up as an official race report and post it. No guarantees though – you all know I’m terrible about that. I’m currently wrapping up my project in NYC and will soon be shipping out to Dallas for at least the next few months – yes, back to the days of hotel cooking, water bottle weights, and trying to avoid the Consulting 15. The portions were among the biggest I’d ever seen, and a lot of people opted for the taco salad, which came in one of those taco shell bells and was absolutely gigantic. When mine came out, I’ll admit to feeling let down by the average-to-small size of the dish, though I know it was better for my waistline. I chose the grilled fish tacos, which were topped with lettuce, black beans, and salsa …

Up in the Air

So… ready for it? I’m unemployed again. This time, though, it’s by choice, and it’s only for about another hour until I officially fill out the HR paperwork for my new job. I received an offer to go back to consulting that was too hard to refuse (great firm, huge raise/bonus, and really interesting/challenging work), so on Tuesday, I packed my desk at my airline job and said goodbye to my coworkers. I spent Wednesday cleaning up my apartment, shopping at Trader Joe’s (the wine shop was WAY too tempting and my wine cabinet is now fully stocked), and packing. …
