You’ll always remember your first time…

I started writing this as a comment to Audrey, but it was long enough that I thought I’d put it into a real post instead. I still haven’t picked my marathon, but I’m enjoying everyone’s suggestions. I picked up a copy of Fodor’s Traveling Marathon Guide, so I’ll hopefully look through that and pick a fun place. Choosing my first marathon (hopefully of many!) is a little daunting for me, because I know I’ll always remember my first, and I want it to be extra super special. I may be putting too much pressure on this, but I just want …

Healthy Meal: Creamy Hot Apple B-Fast with Brown Sugar Crunch

In case you haven’t heard of Hungry Girl, it’s a website that sends out a daily e-mail with fantastic food product reviews and also some innovative recipes that are pretty healthy. They do support the use of Splenda and other products that have crappy chemicals in them, but for the most part, they recommend good stuff. Last night while at the gym, I got a call from a friend that I was to be at her apartment, way up in Morningside Heights, fed, dressed, and ready to go out… all in an hour. Spirit of the Marathon

So like all the others who were slow to get their tickets the first time around and then heard what an awesome experience they missed out on, I went to see Spirit of the Marathon last night. Doing so was not an easy task. I normally fly out on Thursday nights, but there was no guarantee that I could get back to New York by 7:30 when the movie started, so I decided to stay in Boston an extra night and fly back early this morning instead. Unfortunately, there is some crazy winter storm that has cancelled the 7:30 and …

Do your loved ones follow your lifestyle?

Last night on The Biggest Loser, the contestants went home to their families for the week. The idea was to see how they would do in their home environment. Most of the contestants had big parties thrown for them by their friends and family, and most of them included some food that was definitely not diet-friendly. Now, I think it’s pretty insensitive of the families to do that to the contestants (though I’m also guessing that the producers supplied the food for the parties and purposely put those in, just to create drama. Otherwise, I don’t see how the families …
