April Goal Progress: Final Week 4 Check In

April_Week_4_Sleep

I cannot believe it’s May already. April went by entirely too quickly! And unfortunately, me trying to sleep more is not why April felt so short… because I’d say that I was only about half successful in focusing on my sleep. I already wrote about my insomnia last Tuesday night, when I literally got less than two hours of sleep. Not good! I slept well Wednesday and Thursday nights, but Friday I picked up a stomach bug from my nephews (or maybe from someone else in my family, since we all seemed to catch it at some point this week) and woke up …

Sponsored: Small Steps to Better Health with Nature Made

NatureMade_Stress_B_Complex

This post was sponsored by Nature Made® as a part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. This year, I’ve taken a different approach to wellness. Rather than setting big goals at the beginning of the year, I’m deciding on and setting a different goal every month – giving me the opportunity to try different things to see what works (and also what doesn’t). April Challenge: Sleep 8 Hours a Night

As I mentioned in Thursday’s post, last week was a bit crazy, and I have definitely not been getting enough sleep. That trend has unfortunately been continuing for a while. I knew it had gotten bad when I was thinking through my schedule last Sunday night (March 27), and starting a personal countdown to Thursday April 7. Why April 7? It was definitely …

Church Shopping for Lent: The Results

Flatirons_Music

I wrote yesterday about being stressed, and I’m happy to report that I got 7.5 hours of sleep last night and am feeling a lot better today! Sleep definitely affects my mood a lot, and I’m definitely going to try to prioritize it more. Eight hours tonight? Not happening with my 5:30am spin class, but maybe I can get another seven hours if I write this post quickly! One thing that I’ve been making time for on the weekends, and loving, has been going to church. I was raised Catholic, and in the past, have honestly gone to church out of …

March Goal Progress: Week 3 Check In

What_Is_A_Management_Consultant

I have been really overwhelmed lately, and just generally stressed on all fronts. It didn’t help that last week I got incredibly behind on sleep, which made me feel like a zombie all week. I’ve been reading a lot of articles lately on the importance of sleep and exactly what happens when you go without it (see my Links I Love yesterday). But one of the most compelling sources of sleep information was not an article, but this podcast episode from Chalene Johnson, which discussed how the brain gets impacted by lack of sleep. The TLDR (TLDListen?) is that sleep deprivation …
