Why You Should Set One More Goal in 2016 (It’s Not Over Till It’s Over)

Today is December 15th – which means we’re already halfway through the last month of the year. Where did 2016 go?! All across the blogosphere, people are writing their “year in review” posts and even beginning to discuss their goals for 2017. But 2016 isn’t over – don’t give up on it yet! Steve Kamb over at Nerd Fitness recently wrote a great post on staying healthy in winter, and he had this sage advice to offer for the month of December: “Think of it like you’re on the starting line of a race for a healthy life that starts …

November Goal: Books > Facebook

I haven’t been blogging much this month, because I’ve had a lot of personal stuff going on that I don’t really want to air publicly. Unfortunately, all of that was further exacerbated this Wednesday, when I started to see the full backlash of the election results. It feels like the whole country is up in arms, and it doesn’t seem like the instability will go away any time soon. I’m having an amazing time in Mammoth Lakes, California. This morning, we went out on a four mile trail run that took us from an old mining town, through various campsites, past a beautiful waterfall, and ended at a lake where we enjoyed a fabulous picnic brunch. Breakfast burritos, fresh fruit salad, and the best coffee cake I’ve ever had in my life! Our run was led by Olympic gold medalist Deena Kastor, and it was so awesome to run next to her and chat with her as we ran, like we’re just regular running buddies. After lunch, the fifteen of us on …

July Goal Progress: Week 2 Check In

It’s now the third week of the month, and I’ve only done one weekly check in on my goal to eat the frog? Shame on me. But a lot has happened in the last week though that’s had me in a bit of a tizzy. I did successfully block off a chunk of my workday mornings to deal with my most important thing of each day. However, we had some staffing changes at work that have resulted in a ton of new responsibility for me, and it’s taken me some time to come up to speed and get to a point where …
