Sponsored: Small Steps to Better Health with Nature Made

This post was sponsored by Nature Made® as a part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

This year, I’ve taken a different approach to wellness. Rather than setting big goals at the beginning of the year, I’m deciding on and setting a different goal every month – giving me the opportunity to try different things to see what works (and also what doesn’t). As I wrote about a few weeks ago in my post on pushups, sometimes the small daily changes don’t seem like a lot, but then they really add up.

Remember how I thought I might stop adding a pushup a day after I got to 100 pushups? Well, I’m still going. Last night I did 103 pushups and it only took me 3.5 minutes to complete them – the length of DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean, which is a fun upbeat song that also has the perfect beat for me to do pushups in sync with the music 🙂

I’ve written a bunch lately about how I’ve been sick and hoping that catching up on sleep will help. However, I’ve also been trying to work on my nutrition and ensure that my immune system is healthy. All the time I spend sitting on a crowded plane definitely makes me susceptible to every virus out there, and while I’m not doing anything extreme like taking Airborne before every flight, I think an infrequent supplement can help me ensure I’m in great shape and have the energy to keep up with everything on my plate.

Long-time readers may remember a few years ago that I ended up overdosing on Vitamin A from a multivitamin – so I intentionally decided I didn’t to get a yummy gummy vitamin. Instead, I picked up NatureMade Stress B-Complex, a multivitamin that includes various B vitamins, vitamin E, Vitamin C, and zinc. B-complex vitamins are what help to convert food into cellular energy, and therefore can mitigate feelings of exhaustion. Meanwhile, vitamins C and zinc are what I’ve been told by pharmacists to take when I get sick, in order to help speed the cold along – exactly what I need!

A vitamin with “stress” in the name? I definitely need some of that!

I did some research into all the vitamins on the label for which this supplement contains more than 100% RDA dose, and found that all the vitamins included aren’t harmful if taken in excess – they’re usually just passed through the body unused. But I’m also mitigating this by taking my supplement every other day rather than daily. I think that supplements are great when taken in conjunction with a healthy diet, but it’s not a good idea to rely purely on a supplement when it comes to your health. You have to put the hard work of eating right in, too!

There are so many articles about choosing the right supplement, and I have to say, I’ve been overwhelmed by all the advice to ensure you’re buying a high quality brand – especially in lieu of really strong FDA regulations. But through some promotional materials from Nature Made, I learned that Nature Made is the #1 pharmacist-recommended supplement brand in nine categories*, which makes me feel pretty good about the choice. I also really appreciated that Nature Made is readily accessible at Walmart – a place I already shop at frequently because I know I can count on low regular prices for the basics, rather than relying on sales.
