Mostly Sleepless in South Carolina

Only_Kids_Count_Sheep

For my final week of my sleep challenge, I’m reading Arianna Huffington’s recently released book, The Sleep Revolution. The first half is basically all about why sleep is important, and then the second half is about how you actually go about getting enough sleep. I’m only halfway through so far (so have only done the “why it matters” part), but the book has already made a huge impression on me. Whether that’s for the better or not, though, remains to be seen. This week was only a two-day work week for me, since I’m on vacation in South Carolina today through …

April Goal Progress: Week 3 Check In

April_Week_3_Sleep

Keeping it short tonight since my bedtime is in ten minutes… I can’t believe it’s already the last week of the month! I had some wins and some losses this week on the sleep front, but I’m feeling pretty darn energized for a Monday – which is super rare. If this is all that comes out of my month long sleep experiment, I’ll take it! On the loss side, you can see a BIG dip on 4/21, when I had a client dinner followed by drinks with my partner. I caught up a bit on Thursday night, but then Saturday …

April Goal Progress: Week 2 Check In

Well, it looks like my prediction last week was spot on. Turns out that when I’m not sick, it’s a lot harder to get my eight hours of sleep in! I had a lot of nights where I got home in time to get a full eight hours, but still came up short. At first, I was starting to think the problem is that I usually get up around 5am to work out. That means in order to get in eight hours of sleep, I’d have to go to bed by 9pm – which is pretty tough to do! But if I don’t work …

NatureMade_Stress_B_Complex

This post was sponsored by Nature Made® as a part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. This year, I’ve taken a different approach to wellness. Rather than setting big goals at the beginning of the year, I’m deciding on and setting a different goal every month – giving me the opportunity to try different things to see what works (and also what doesn’t). As I wrote about a few weeks ago in my post on pushups, sometimes the small daily changes don’t seem like a lot, but then they really add up. Remember how I thought I might stop …
