Eating healthy is a CLM

I just committed a huge CLM. Translation for those of you not in consulting: Career Limiting Move. Usually this applies to things like screwing up a detail on something we send to the client, checking a bag at the airport, or forgetting a jacket when you’re supposed to wear business formal. Tonight I learned of another CLM: trying to be healthy. Today our workload was manageable, and I didn’t have any team dinners or events planned for the evening. I planned to get some kind of healthy food, relax in my room while eating, and then watch Biggest Loser and …

Ah, the Monday morning pat-down…

I get special security screening 90% of the time I travel, because I’m quite a suspicious character. I always buy my tickets at the airport, usually with less than an hour until the flight (sometimes, less than 30 minutes). I always buy one way tickets, never round-trip. I’m never asking for calorie info at restaurants, and I also almost never get just a salad. I guess being healthy is such a big part of my lifestyle that it’s just obvious, which I guess is good. What’s interesting is, my team is ostensibly all about eating …

And now, live from my workout!

This post is coming to you direct from… the treadmill. As in, I am walking on the treadmill right now while typing this. How cool is that?! I’m staying at the Westin Copley Square this week, and while I was initially dismayed to find out that this particular Westin has discontinued the RunWestin program (where they have a “running concierge” who leads group running tours of the city every morning), I was mollified by getting a surprise: I got one of the two coveted WestinWorkout rooms on the property! WestinWorkout rooms come fully equipped with weights, a jump rope, a …
