Although my consulting firm had our holiday shutdown and I was technically off work all week, I had a different kind of work scheduled – ski instructing at Beaver Creek! I had an absolutely amazing time teaching seven classes, mostly levels 4 and 5 (linking turns and getting parallel on easy blue terrain), and even ended up with a high-ranking political official in one of my classes! Weekend Recap: One Day Weekend

My Friday was work of a different kind – I had taken a few more days off this week to finish my ski instructor training at Beaver Creek! I finished up training on Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday and Saturday I was doing “audits” – where I observe other instructors teach classes to help me better learn the flow. Once again, this post will be a little longer than a weekend recap. Although we just had a long weekend because of Thanksgiving, I took Wednesday through Friday off this past week again – this time, to attend training to become a ski instructor at Beaver Creek! Weekend of March 13-15 Wow, things have really changed quite a bit in the last week. I started quarantining on Sunday and don’t plan to leave my house except for groceries until this is all over. This week, I took three days off work to head to Utah with some coworkers for a ski boondoggle. I haven’t taken a true vacation in so long (some time off at Christmas, but otherwise my last vacation was Vienna a year ago). With all the stress I’ve been under, it was definitely much needed!
