Weekend Recap: One Day Weekend

Sadie_Happy_Post_Run

My Friday was work of a different kind – I had taken a few more days off this week to finish my ski instructor training at Beaver Creek! I finished up training on Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday and Saturday I was doing “audits” – where I observe other instructors teach classes to help me better learn the flow. It was interesting to see how each instructor had a very different style, but it was also frustrating not to be able to step in myself. I am eager to teach! I won’t get to do that until December 28th, though, so …

Weekend Recap: Ski School

Once again, this post will be a little longer than a weekend recap. Although we just had a long weekend because of Thanksgiving, I took Wednesday through Friday off this past week again – this time, to attend training to become a ski instructor at Beaver Creek! Last winter, I went on a few dates with a guy who ran a really successful business, but also became a part time ski instructor at Beaver Creek. He talked it up a lot, and encouraged me to check it out myself. It sounded like fun, but I don’t know that I really …

Weekend Recap: Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving_Dinner_Night_1

I normally only recap my weekends, since weekdays I typically work pretty late so there isn’t a lot to blog about. (Although I know it’s easy for you to check out my LinkedIn, I generally don’t blog about work stuff, or when I do, I try to keep it vague.) But this week was Thanksgiving week – and while I didn’t take any extra days off work, my mom and I celebrated Thanksgiving across multiple nights, starting on Tuesday. Long time readers know that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year, and I get a lot of joy out …

Weekend Recap: Welcome Sadie!

Quaranteam_of_3

I didn’t have a ton of plans for this weekend before Thanksgiving, but I was looking forward to getting some quality time in with both my mom and J. However, at 3pm on Friday, an interesting call changed everything… Remember when I was fostering dogs earlier this year? I absolutely loved having a dog to run with, but I decided I wanted a dog of my own rather than a temporary dog that would eventually go to someone else. There were some things I wanted to train a dog to do that wouldn’t make sense if I weren’t going to …

Weekend Recap: Quarantined

Moms_Chemo_Hats

My weekend unfortunately did not start off well. A few minutes after I woke up, J let me know that his son had a sore throat and wouldn’t be going to school. Although J’s son’s school is closed, J and his ex have chosen to keep their son in an optional program where he goes to school every day and does his online learning from the school cafeteria with several other kids, all masked, and then they can play together outside during breaks. J and I don’t see anyone outside of the kids, but we have long known that the …
