A Night at the Algonquin (Sponsored by Marriott Rewards)

Algonquin Hotel Bedroom

Sponsored post disclaimer: Millennial Central is providing me with a promotional item, Marriott Rewards elite status, and Marriott Rewards points in exchange for this post series, but I was not pressured to write a positive review and all opinions expressed in today’s post are mine alone.  It has been a whirlwind of a weekend… and I realize it’s only halfway over! I’m on a plane back to Dallas right now for work tomorrow, but I had a bit of an extended weekend, heading to New York on Thursday morning and staying till this afternoon. My friend Lori’s wedding was Friday night, so …

Visiting My (Former) Home

I can already tell this weekend is going to be a strange one. It may be Thursday, and I may be flying my “usual” DFW-LGA route, but it feels like anything but normal. (Apologies in advance for how disjointed this post will likely be, since it’s pretty rambling with all the thoughts going through my head right now.) First of all, while I used to fly this route every week, it’s actually been a month since my last flight anywhere, which is crazy to me. I try hard to plan for the racing hiatus and squeeze in at least one or two marathons between …

You can take the woman out of the city… or can you?

Things are super crazy at work right now with a huge go-live – and I’ve completely flip flopped my schedule. I’m basically on Switzerland time – going to bed at 2pm-3pm CT and waking up at 11pm CT to get to work by midnight. (Too bad I had to work normal hours for the three days after my trip to Paris, or I could have just stayed on the same schedule since then and I would have been all set.) So perhaps it’s just the exhaustion that comes with sleeping when it’s bright out and heading to work when everyone …

Living Up In The Air

Today I moved out of NYC. (Gulp.) After a really fun goodbye party with my friends on Saturday, I settled down on Sunday to packing in earnest. I did a lot of cleaning out over my Christmas vacation, but it wasn’t till Friday that I started making a lot of headway with actually getting things into boxes. Yesterday, though, it was do-or-die time: my goal before bedtime was to be completely packed except for toiletries, blinds/curtains, bedding, and other miscellaneous things I needed for my last night at home. I actually reached my packing goal around 11pm, hitting the sack …
