Resetting my sleep schedule

This weekend was pretty crazy in terms of disrupting my sleeping patterns, and of course Sunday nights are never easy, given that I have to be up by 5:30am to catch my flight. I didn’t even get home from skiing until about 6pm on Sunday, so that was only about 12 hours that I was in New York! And yet, I won’t be home again for another two weeks… such is the traveling consultant’s life when I alt-travel to fun destinations so much. My New Year’s resolution to go for a minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night (with …

Association for Slender Salad Eaters ‘Round the Year (A.S.S.E.R.Y.)

While you all were complaining about your gyms being invaded by New Year’s Resolutioners, I didn’t have that problem…. I had my own, personal workout room. Of course, the gorgeous elliptical only taunted me, since Rachel won’t still let me do cardio till next week, but I got busy with the free weights, and kicked my butt so hard that it was already sore when I woke up. Yay! But while I may be bragging about getting to use whatever weight I want whenever I wanted to use it, there is one New Year’s Resolution rant I have not yet …

Happy New Year, everyone! Like most of you, I spent the night partying with some good friends… but now it’s time to get down to business. What’s in store for me in 2011? And what are my New Year’s resolutions? My theme in coming up with my New Year’s resolutions for this year is to be the person I want to be. I’ve wasted too much time waiting for one thing or another before I just do want I want to do (e.g., waiting to meet someone before traveling, waiting till I move to a house in the suburbs before …

2.5 months till the end of 2009!

A women’s discussion group I’m in is currently addressing goals for 2009… can you believe there are only 2.5 months left in the year? Time sure flies! However, 2.5 months is still enough time to make some progress on goals I haven’t yet finished. Without further adieu, let’s dive into my 2009 New Year’s fitness resolutions. Run faster, run farther, run better.I will run 1,000 miles this year (I will also log all miles ran so I know if I’m on track for this).I will complete 25 marathons this year.I will finish a marathon in under 4 hours.I will get …

Happy New Year!

January 2 – time to review 2008 and officially declare my New Year’s resolutions! (And none of them are to avoid procrastinating… hmm…) Last year, I set three goals: to complete a half-marathon, to get certified as a personal trainer, and to run 600 miles. In reverse order:I hit 575 miles by September 7 (and that was with a lot of miles not counted, because I sucked at tracking them). I have certainly run more than 25 miles since then. Done.I did not get certified as a personal trainer, and it’s still something I’d be interested in doing, but I’m …
