Rewards and Punishments

For the last two weeks, Brynn from the Refine Challenge has been asking us to focus on two very important things: punishments and rewards. Without consequences, it’s way too easy to do whatever you want! However (unfortunately?), we are all adults, and punishments and rewards exist for all the choices we make in our life. For me, attending or skipping a workout comes with its own inherent punishments/rewards. Last night, I stayed up way too late working on something, and when my alarm went off this morning for my 6am Flywheel class, I had zero interest in attending – more …

Picking My Plan B

This morning, I kicked off day 11 of my “work out every day” January challenge with not just one but two workouts: Flywheel and Refine Method. I’ve written a lot about Flywheel in the past, being a FlyAddict and all, but Refine Method is something that is very new to me – and I’m loving it. Just keep swimming…

Yesterday was an exceptionally crappy day. I was very glad I did some yoga first thing in the morning, because last night the only plan I wanted to follow was getting together with some good friends and enjoying a bottle of wine. Dream It, Do It

Monday is travel day, which means I get up at 4:30am ET, fly to Dallas, and work until 8pm ET before heading to my hotel to settle in (we try to leave early on Mondays). Usually, I am exhausted by the time I get to the hotel, and so I have a quiet night of gym time + food delivery. Last night, though, my friend Blake invited me to her wonderful group Bachelor watching extravaganza – made extra exciting because it was the first episode of the season! Thanks to the fabulous snark on Television Without Pity (and now the addition …

Nothing Is Impossible

My resolution to work out every day in January is going pretty well so far. As I learned on Commitment Day (aka January 1st), it’s a lot easier to get yourself to do something when you commit to it and don’t give yourself any excuse to drop out. Drink too much on New Year’s Eve? Well, you already signed up for the 5K, so you have to do it. Exhausted from early morning flights? Too bad, you told your friends you were going to Flywheel. I announced here on my blog that I was going to work out every day …
