March Madness: Adjusting My Appearance

I know it’s five days into March and I’m just starting to write about my March monthly challenge. But honestly, I’m a little embarrassed about this one. But the idea for this month’s challenge came from a lot of different random experiences: -Frequently getting mistaken by clients for the analyst instead of the manager because of how young I look and the immature way I dress -Always having trouble figuring out what to wear to go out at night in NYC (pretty much the only time I really worry about my appearance) and constantly feeling like I have nothing to …

February Wrap Up: Portion Control Challenge

As the month comes to a close, I want to take a few minutes to reflect on what I got done in February – namely, how did my month-long portion control challenge go? I certainly didn’t do a perfect job practicing portion control, particularly in Europe when faced with cheap and delicious bottles of wine everywhere we went. But alcohol aside, I think I’ve definitely redefined what a normal serving of food is for me. Giving up the negativity

(This is by no means a religious blog, but the Lenten season has inspired me to set some new goals, so I hope you don’t mind the tangent.) It was lucky that I started my day today with a VBarre class at Classic Pilates or I might never have had the time/energy to work out at all! Six Tips for Portion Control: February Challenge

Okay, here’s a post that’s been a long time coming: My February challenge. Welcome to (or fine, join me midway through) the month I focus on portion control! As I’ve constantly been reminded by Brynn at Refine Method, exercise alone is not enough. I’ve noticed from my own anecdotal “research” that eating well is the only thing that actually helps me lose weight, no matter how much I work out. Plus, I wanted to do something a bit different than my work out every day January challenge (especially since I’ve decided to continue that to the end of March). I …

Weekend Roundup / Why Soreness Doesn’t Matter

My weekend didn’t get off to a great start – but that didn’t mean I couldn’t recover. On Thursday night, I ended up getting quite upset about something – and literally staying up all night long stressing out. Not good at all! At 1am, I went online to cancel my Friday morning Refine Method class, since I could already foresee this being a bad night. I didn’t want to give up on my challenge (especially after my very public commitment to extend my work out daily challenge till March!), but thought I could perhaps go that evening instead of getting …
