Weekend Recap: Sick or Lazy? / Workouts Lately

SheTech_Colorado_2019

Weekend of February 9-10 This is going to be a pretty short weekend recap… but after Friday night, there’s not a lot to report! Friday was a very big day for me at work. I’ve spent the last few months planning for SheTech Colorado, a one-day conference for high school girls to get them excited about careers in STEM, and Friday it all came to fruition! I was on tap to give some welcoming remarks in the beginning (right before our lieutenant governor!), then host a small group workshop on facial recognition technology before lunch, and finally judge the afternoon …

Weekend Recaps: Slowing Things Down

Denver_Airport_Goodbye_Mom

Combined recap of November 10-11 and 17-18. Thanks for putting up with my tardiness as I catch up on my diary 😉 With the election behind me, I’ve finally had a little bit of time to come up for air. These past few months have been jam-packed with events and obligations, so these last two weekends, even though I still had a lot of plans, it felt like I had so much free time. Friday after the election kicked off with some celebratory drinks with my two co-Trustee-elects and one of our local business owners who supported us. We haven’t …

Laura_Victory_Livestream

I’m titling this a race report, because, my gosh, running for office was one of the toughest races I have ever run, even if wasn’t literal running! She was almost more excited than I was, while I was in disbelief that all the campaigning was finally over! I had a little bit …

Weekend Recap: Catching a Breath on the (Campaign) Trail

I went into this weekend thinking I was barely going to have time to breathe, but fortunately, I ended up with more down time than I expected! Friday was admittedly very jammed… a few meetings ran over, and since my schedule was back-to-back-to-back, I didn’t have time to make up for anything I missed and ended up having to reschedule till this week. Oops! But I did get a ton of stuff done, including hosting a fabulous book club at my office to discuss The Opposite of Hate. I’ll cover this in my What I Read in September post (particularly since …

Weekend Recap: Sleepless in Superior

Sunday_Sundaes

Well, the campaign has kicked into high gear, and that means it’s pretty much my sole focus for my free time! However, I’m trying to set aside at least one chunk of time a week to see my friends who don’t live in Superior, as I’m realizing it’s pretty lonely when I’m doing all campaigning all the time. There’s a lot of pressure to be “on”, even when I’m not technically campaigning and am just hanging out with my neighborhood friends, and I’m starting to go a little crazy. Theodora (who used to write about politics) told me that feeling of …
