This morning, I drove up to the mountains to ski as usual – but rather than driving home later, several of us are sticking around in Vail for the weekend. My friend Sarah had told us about the annual Pink Vail event, a ski day to raise money to fight cancer, and we’ve been looking forward to it for weeks!
When I packed for the weekend, rather than adding a pair of heels or rewearing my snow boots when we were out on the town, I packed something a little more fashion-forward: the Reebok Fast Flexweave sneakers. These shoes are built to be durable, stable, and breathable, while having a stylish look that doesn’t scream “gym”. In a chi-chi town like Vail, that’s exactly what I want! And for Pink Vail, I especially loved the color combo of the Flexweaves, which features a trendy gray/white textured dot weave but also has subtle pops of light pink around the eyelets. The design felt trendy and urban, but still feminine.
The Reebok Fast Flexweaves feel much lighter in both weight and structure than my typical running shoes, so when I first picked them up, I was worried they’d be more of a shoe to wear around town than actually exercise in. However, they were surprisingly sturdy despite their durability, and my feet felt perfectly comfortable when I tested them for a few miles on the treadmill. And at the same time, they’re cute enough to wear with skinny jeans and a casual top.
While I’m usually reluctant to wear my sneakers with anything but workout apparel, I thought the Flexweaves were the perfect mix of sporty and urban to make them work with jeans. I like the wardrobe multitasking that the Flexweaves enable – makes my packing for travel a lot more compact!
If you’re interested in checking out the Reebok Fast Flexweaves, they’re available at select DSW stores or online here. I think the design is super cute, and I’m looking forward to coming up with more ways to wear them around town!
