Vacation recap, in brief

While this was a quick trip, mostly aimed at getting to run the Reggae Marathon, it ended up being a vacation that relaxed me almost as much and felt almost as fulfilling as a full week away. In an effort to keep this short and get this post up ASAP, I’m going to categorize the insights I gained this weekend. Night Before the Race: Reggae Marathon

I spent last night in Miami, in preparation for my flight this morning to Montego Bay. After watching The Apprentice at the hotel (with my mom watching at home and us comparing notes via phone on commercial breaks – gotta love adapting to my travel!), I got to bed by about 11:30pm, and woke up at 8am – not a bad night’s sleep! Help Wanted

Yesterday was a bit of a rough day for me on several fronts. Work wasn’t going so well – we had a few meetings that just didn’t go as well as we hoped. Meanwhile, I had stayed up super late on Wednesday night in order to get caught up on my Thanksgiving Half Marathon race report so that I could then follow up with the subsequent posts I’ve been writing in the meantime. It’s not my fault – the wineries are literally calling out to me!

I’ve been trying to steer clear of drinking lately, in part due to getting a reminder from this article how bad alcohol is for weight loss. However, it’s a bit tough to do when I have companies like the fabulous Toasted Head Winery thanking me publicly for choosing their wines. Now that they’ve reminded me, I can’t help but crave their buttery oaky Chardonnay!
