To Run Or Not To Run?

Unfortunately, not much news to report on the cervical spine front, other than how much time I’ve wasted calling doctors in the Dallas Metroplex area to try to get an appointment. Almost every receptionist I spoke with said that their respective doctor would be happy to squeeze me in at the end of August, because apparently spinal injuries are non-urgent and you can just sit tight for six weeks or so. Fortunately, a Twitter referral came through for me (Caron, I owe you big time!) and I should be able to see this guy the week after next, or sooner …

Apps I Love: SMS Backup

One area in which I struggle from a productivity standpoint is dealing with my multitude of inboxes. There is my company work email, my client work email, my blog email, and my personal email, plus non-traditional inboxes like my voicemail, my to do list, and my text messages. Every productivity expert will advise you that narrowing your focus to one source of tasks is critical – this is why so many email productivity guides start by encouraging you to timebox checking/processing email and then ignore your inbox outside of those times. July Challenge: GSD

I can’t believe it’s July 1st already – are we really already in the second half of the year?? The beginning of July also means the end of June’s mindful snacking challenge… but unfortunately, I’m a bit disappointed with my results. What Do You Do When You Get Free Time?

This weekend, I drove for over ten hours and 500 miles to get back and forth from Denver to Aspen for Kelly’s wedding (some tunnel traffic on the return contributed to the long driving time). But despite the lengthy hours spent cooped up on my own solo road trip, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the drive. Not only was the scenery stunningly beautiful, but I also got to catch up on tons of podcasts and learn a lot while I was in the car. I have become rather infatuated with podcasts lately, listening to them on my drive to/from work in …

Find Balance, Achieve More

Many of you read Ari Meisel’s excellent guest post yesterday, How Do You Know What You Don’t Know. (If you didn’t get a chance to read it, I’d highly recommend going back and taking a look – lots of great info that supports Peter Drucker’s famous adage, “you can’t manage what you don’t measure.”) Furthermore, I’d encourage you to check out Ari’s site for other neat stuff, including his podcast series that I’ve been listening to nonstop while driving around Dallas. So much insight on productivity and efficiency! But today I want to put in a shameless plug. In lieu …
