What I Read in April 2021

Best_Books_Of_April_2021

I read nine books in April, which was my most prolific month of reading yet. I’m thrilled by that! I think the trick was reading a lot of novels, which I’ve been enjoying more than nonfiction lately. However, I did sneak a few nonfiction (and historical fiction) books in… 4 stars: To Sir, with Love, by Lauren Layne: This was such a sweet and fun rom com! A modern take on You’ve Got Mail, Gracie is falling in love with a guy on a blind online dating app, where neither knows what the other looks like. Meanwhile, in real life, …

What I Read in March 2021

Best_Books_Of_March_2021

I didn’t read quite as much in March as I would have liked, but I did read five books, all novels – I found they kept me turning the pages! I seem to have moved away from non-fiction in the last year, and I think that’s okay. There is so much non-fiction reading I’m doing for work and in my personal life, to understand COVID19 and how the world is changing, that maybe it’s okay for me to stick to lighter books that entertain rather than educate! 5 stars: Majesty, by Katharine McGee: I absolutely loved the first American Royals, …

This was a busy month, but because it was also a short one, this means I’m only two books behind on where I need to be to hit 100 books by the end of the year. I can catch up! 5 stars: The Secret Bridesmaid, by Katy Birchall: This was such a fun read! I loved the entrepreneurial main character, and seeing her very 21st century business …

What I Read in January 2021

Buoyed by my success at reading 100 books in 2020, I wanted to start 2021 strong – and I did! 8 books read in January, which puts me exactly on track for my goal. I stalled out a bit when I found that reading nonfiction made me less eager to read at all, but I picked up some light fiction to break it up, and discovered that when I had a book I was eager to read, I made a lot more time for reading. (Duh!) Although I want to read at least one or two nonfiction books a month, …

What I Read in December 2020

Best_Books_Of_December_2020

I only read seven books in December – a bit less than the pace I was hitting earlier in the year, especially since I had a vacation at the end (though I spent it teaching skiing instead of purely relaxing). But that still means I read 101 books in 2020, which is one more than my goal of reading 100! This is the first year since 2017 that I’ve hit my goal, and I’m hoping I can keep up the momentum in 2021 and make it less of an anomaly that I actually make it to the century mark 🙂 …
