Reacting to Another Fire

Morrison_from_Red_Rocks_Trading_Post_Trail

Yesterday started out well. First thing in the morning, Sadie and I stopped by Red Rocks Park for a trail run. I’ve spent the first three months of the year either focused on fire recovery and not working out, or up in the mountains to ski, so this was actually my first trail run of the year. And it was a good one! I had been checking out several options on AllTrails, but most reports indicated that mud was still a problem. My boyfriend had suggested that Red Rocks is usually so hard packed it doesn’t get muddy, and he …

Bonus Content: Ali on the Run Podcast

Snowshoeing

Last week, I was lucky enough to get interviewed by Ali Feller for her popular Ali on the Run podcast. It was so much fun, and I was delighted to see it launch today! You can catch the show yourself here. However, the conversation flew by too quickly for me to get everything perfect; I sometimes wished I had said something different or added other details. (Especially during the sprint to the finish… I would say I changed this section from a sprint into more of a “hard run” with lots of breaks! Haha.) So, consider this your behind the …

Sadie_Misty_Meadow_Mountain

2nd_Place_Race

Speaking of returning to “the new normal”… this weekend, I was thrilled to convene my friends for my first “party” in over a year. Normally, Cinco de Mayo is a great excuse for me to host dozens of friends to eat Mexican food and drink margaritas. This year, I scaled it back to a party of eight people instead of eighty, but still made all the same dishes. And it was a lot of fun! I was able to intersperse some party prep into my work day – particularly since I’ve gotten my menu for this party down to a …

Weekend Recap: Mom’s Birthday

Grasso_Lights_with_Family

This was a weekend I had been planning for a very long time, and I was really excited it was finally here. It kicked off on Thursday afternoon. At 2pm, I told my mom I was headed to the grocery store, and hopped into the car to take a call while driving… to the airport to pick up my dad! He and I had hatched a plan to fly him to Colorado for the weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and she had no idea. I was nervous for weeks that I was going to accidentally let it slip, but the surprise …
