Maybe it’s a good thing…

I just got back from the doctor (general yearly physical; nothing is wrong). It was my first visit to her, and I actually liked her very much. However, after checking my height/weight, she remarked: “You should try to lose about 5 pounds.” Those are generally not words you want to hear come out of your doctor’s mouth. I guess it’s better than “you should try to lose about 50 pounds”, but still. I, however, being a strange bird, am slightly torn as to whether I should actually be happy about this and see it in a positive way. I’ve been …

Last minute charity

An e-mail I just sent to my friends/family: Last year I did Relay for Life at Cornell with a team of my girlfriends, all of whom had had a parent diagnosed with cancer. I wasn’t going to do it again this year (no time to fundraise and really get ready), but I just got asked by my old team to join and I’m finding it hard to refuse. My Biggest Loser Workout

Tonight I worked out while watching The Biggest Loser, so you’ll get a combination of show review and personal workout routine. When I first heard Vegas, my initial reaction (even before they showed Bob’s reaction), was… what kind of reward is that? If you’re trying to lose weight, Vegas is NOT where you want to go. I would have rather seen a reward of “you can go to Vegas OR you can make the other team go.” It would have been much more interesting. The Blue Team working out together was really cute, especially when they were all on the …

Running inspiration: Tasti D and blogger playlists

Yesterday I went for a quick Tasti D run. I hadn’t done one in so long, and Boston doesn’t even have Tasti D! I know, unbelievable. To any of my Boston readers: what kind of all-natural low-cal frozen yogurt is in Boston and where can I get it? I checked for Wow Cow and it seems to be in Needham, which sounds far. I’m living/working/working out in Boston proper, so if you know any places, let me know! Robeks is awesome but not quite the same as creamy froyo goodness. I had planned to do a really long run (17 …

Spirit of the Marathon

So like all the others who were slow to get their tickets the first time around and then heard what an awesome experience they missed out on, I went to see Spirit of the Marathon last night. Doing so was not an easy task. I normally fly out on Thursday nights, but there was no guarantee that I could get back to New York by 7:30 when the movie started, so I decided to stay in Boston an extra night and fly back early this morning instead. Unfortunately, there is some crazy winter storm that has cancelled the 7:30 and …
