The Day After the Marathon

I’m sure most of you have seen this video by now, but I’ll post it anyway: Most people in that video were me yesterday – my mom and friend Kristen had both seen the video, and kept pointing out how much I resembled then. They laughed when, at Friendly’s, I saw some guy limping along and knew to say “congratulations!” (This is also how I identified marathoners the day after Boston). I’m surprisingly fine today though. My gait is pretty normal, and I don’t really look like a day after marathoner at all. My only problem is my right hip …

Race Report: Bay to Breakers

Chris said it best when he stated “I could not really call this a race report since B2B is more about the event and less about the actual run.” Also, I probably can’t really call this a race report since I didn’t register, I didn’t once run, I didn’t get a time, and I didn’t cross the finish line. But ignoring those minor technicalities, we’ll forge onward. The only bad thing was the Bikini Bootcamp class I went to at the gym last night (I got out of work at 7, and the class was at 7:30, so I had just enough time to get there). There was a lot of leg work, so I kept having …

Weekend in review

Saturday was Relay for Life, and though I suppose it was a success, it was kind of a disappointment compared to other years that I’ve done it. How well the Relay goes is largely a function of how much effort you put into it beforehand, and as you all know, I didn’t put much effort in because I just planned to go 24 hours before. My last minute e-mail blitz to my friends and family resulted in donations of $10/mile, which I decided was worth it. However, because I planned to walk ahead of time (instead of last minute at …
