Getting my exercise on!

Last night, I had far too many beers – six. According to that study, that’s the average a white woman drinks in a month! What can I say, I’ve always been one to live by the motto of “go big or go home.” However, “going big” on beer is not so good for my waistline. Lately I’ve been really unhappy with the way my stomach is starting to pooch out – I don’t look my best in fitted dresses like I used to! I don’t think I’ve been eating THAT terribly, but it’s definitely time for a change – I’m …

Missing my drinks

I’ve been laying off the alcohol this week due to a few factors:1) Still trying to get over this darn cold2) Still trying to lose the 2349082 pounds and beer belly I gained in Punta Cana while drinking Presidente all day long and3) Working too hard to have time to go out and drink Nevertheless, I’d say on average I’m usually pretty far ahead of the trend. When it rains, it pours

You would think after my last post, things would only get better. Unfortunately, they got worse… I spent all day Thursday dealing with the bugs, and my mom agreed to come Saturday morning to help me out. Bugged!

So my first post back from Punta Cana was going to be all about my brother’s beautiful beach wedding and the not-so-beautiful round shape of my stomach after the all-you-can-eat fried buffets we frequented. I was going to write about the magazines I read while basking in the sun and the interesting health and fitness related tidbits I clipped to scan, and then I was going to write about how on the plane I starting reading Runners’ Lounge’s book, The Ultimate Runner, and how it’s inspired me to start running again. However, all of that was trumped when I walked …

Catch Up

Gosh, I suck at posting. But I’m on a plane right now and reading Maureen Lipinski’s Not Ready for Mom Jeans (hilarious novel about a blogger who just became a new mom… reminds me of Jenn Lancaster‘s style), and her blogging has inspired me to get back on the horn. Get ready for the rundown! So the short version of the past week… worked my butt off in Chicago on a new project, worked my belly off at the gyms in Chicago as part of our firm’s fitness challenge (first day: 1.5 hours of elliptical, 30 minutes of strength training. …
