March Goal Progress: Week 2 Check In

I did it! This last week, I hit my step goal six out of seven days (and I made up for it on the other days), so I ended the week with a total of 110,749 steps – that’s 10,749 steps over my goal of 100k! I definitely stepped my game up this week (ha, pun intended), and while some of it was kind of tedious, there were also a lot of small changes that I’d like to continue even after my March step challenge is done. First, let’s start with the low points of the week. Some days I …

March Goal Progress: Week 1 Check In

Fitbit_Daily_Total_March_7

Monday means it’s time to check in for my monthly goal… but wait! I never yet posted about what my March goal was, even though I had it in my head and have been working toward achieving it. Fortunately, it doesn’t require much explanation: my March goal is to log 100,000 steps per week (or an average of 14,286 steps per day). I’ll be tallying on a Monday to Sunday basis, so the total is more important than the average. However, I honestly don’t hit 10,000 steps a day now, so this is quite a challenge to consistently exceed that …

February Goal Progress: Week 3 Check In

Someecards_Talking_While_Bored_Driving

Can you believe it’s February 22nd already? I know that February is slightly longer this year because it’s a leap year, but that still means the month is almost over. It went by so quickly! To be honest, though, I’ve spent the past week wishing my February challenge was over. Although I’m happy that I’ve stopped using my phone while I’m driving, it’s been frustrating not being able to talk to people while I’m on the road. Sure, I can avoid my phone and just assume that plans won’t change at the last minute… but that tends to hurt me more than anyone else, since …

Skiing is the New Golf

Parsenns_Bowl_Winter_Park

I’ve never learned how to golf, partly because I suck so much at mini-golf that I figured there was no point in embarrassing myself further. I’ve been forced to try driving ranges like Top Golf at company events, but those thankfully end up being a lot more socializing and lot less actually hitting balls. And then there was that time I was trying really hard to follow a coworker’s tips for good form, and hit the ball (what I thought was) perfectly only to have it land two feet in front of me, in the net that prevents people from falling …
