What I Read In August 2022

Best_Books_Of_August_2022

As I’m starting to get back to “normal life” following my hormone-induced depression from IVF, I’m reading a bit less than the last few months… but I still read eight books in August, keeping me well on track for meeting my goal of 100 books a year. And a lot of them were awesome! 5 stars: Stay Awake, by Megan Goldin: Liv wakes up in a taxi with no recollection of how she got there… and when she goes to “her apartment”, she finds other people living there. She reaches in her pocket for her phone, and finds a bloody knife …

What I Read In July 2022

Best_Books_Of_July_2022

July was a reasonably solid reading month – I read 10 books this month, including several on the plane coming back from my trip to France. I’m still reading mostly light novels, though I snuck in a non-fiction book on heartbreak to try to clear my head after a breakup that’s had me pretty upset for months. 5 stars: Verity, by Colleen Hoover: I had read one Colleen Hoover book before, and it was quite the opposite of this – but I loved this! Lowen is an aspiring but broke writer who is offered the chance of a lifetime: to ghostwrite …

It was planned to be a flat point-to-point course with no …

Race Report: Holy Cow Trail Stampede 10 Mile

Sadie_and_Laura_After_The_Race

Well, I had that little burst of blogging at the beginning of July just before my France trip and then… it’s been busy. The trip to Chamonix was phenomenal. I initially intended to write up full blog posts on it, but I ended up sharing so many photos and a brief writeup each day on my Instagram that it never felt pressing to write a blog post as well. So maybe just check those out? To get the biggest FAQ out of the way, it was all booked through Run the Alps – a tour company that typically plans point-to-point …

What I Read in June 2022

Best_Books_Of_June_2022

I read 10 books in June – another big reading month! While I gave a bunch of books four stars, I would highly encourage you to check out Options are Power, which teetered for me between 4 and 5 stars. 5 stars: Thank You for Listening, by Julia Whelan: Sewanee is a former up-and-coming actress who was just on the verge of becoming a household name when an accident claimed her right eye, and ruined her career as she was forced to permanently wear an eye patch. Instead, she becomes a star audiobook narrator (not being into audiobooks myself, I didn’t …
