Marathon Monday!

I have a long post from yesterday that I’m halfway done with, so I’ll post that later. But for now, just wanted to say how excited I am… the front runners in the marathon are only about 10 miles away! Time for me to head out because they’ll be here before I know it. Exciting to hear that they’re on track to set a course record, too. My plan is to walk down to mile 24 (it’s a block from my friend Adam’s apartment where I stayed last night), watch the leaders, then make a quick alcohol run and also …

What type of runner are you?

(From Active.com) I’d like to say I’m a High Five Twister, because part of the description is “cute and young female runner.” I do want to high five every runner that passes me, and sometimes I do just that. I also often run with a huge dopey looking grin on my face and some tears in my eyes because my runner’s high from my music has made me so happy to be out there. Race Report: Cooper River Bridge Run

Sorry this is so delayed… I really need to get better about these reports or it will be July and you’ll be reading about my Turkey Trot! When my flight from Charlotte was finally boarding at 2:30, they asked for volunteers to step off and take the 4:30 flight instead. I seized the opportunity for a free roundtrip ticket anywhere in the country, …

Weekend in review

Saturday was Relay for Life, and though I suppose it was a success, it was kind of a disappointment compared to other years that I’ve done it. How well the Relay goes is largely a function of how much effort you put into it beforehand, and as you all know, I didn’t put much effort in because I just planned to go 24 hours before. My last minute e-mail blitz to my friends and family resulted in donations of $10/mile, which I decided was worth it. However, because I planned to walk ahead of time (instead of last minute at …

Last minute charity

An e-mail I just sent to my friends/family: Last year I did Relay for Life at Cornell with a team of my girlfriends, all of whom had had a parent diagnosed with cancer. I wasn’t going to do it again this year (no time to fundraise and really get ready), but I just got asked by my old team to join and I’m finding it hard to refuse. Instead of asking for a flat donation, since it is so very last minute, what I’m thinking is this: Basically, each team at the Relay tries to have at least one person …
