Bonus Content: Ali on the Run Podcast

Snowshoeing

Last week, I was lucky enough to get interviewed by Ali Feller for her popular Ali on the Run podcast. It was so much fun, and I was delighted to see it launch today! You can catch the show yourself here. However, the conversation flew by too quickly for me to get everything perfect; I sometimes wished I had said something different or added other details. (Especially during the sprint to the finish… I would say I changed this section from a sprint into more of a “hard run” with lots of breaks! Haha.) So, consider this your behind the …

Final Hurrah of the Skison: Steamboat, Bluebird Backcountry, and Avalanche Preparedness

Bluebird_Backcountry_Top_Of_Wapiti_Way

This weekend, I headed out to the mountains – but not to the Vail Valley. Instead, my boyfriend and I headed out to the Steamboat Springs area, where we spent Friday skiing Steamboat resort, and Saturday and Sunday trying out backcountry skinning / skiing… and taking an avalanche preparedness course (AIARE1). Friday at Steamboat was awesome. By the time we dropped Sadie off at “doggie camp” (her amazing boarding facility) and made the beautiful drive out to Steamboat, we didn’t get on the mountain until about 10:30am. I was a little bummed we were so late, since we were having to …

Hope_Marshall_Fire

Well, hello everyone. It’s been a while. Let’s catch up? (Warning: long post ahead. Consider it a makeup for the last eight months of silence.) Last summer, like many people staying in the same job through “The Great Resignation”, I started getting more and more burned out at work. Where in June I had a team of seven people, staff kept leaving and leaving, and by November, I was down to one manager (who was going on maternity leave in December) and me. Yikes. I was working 12-18 hours a day, in a slew of never ending back-to-back-to-back meetings. It …

What I Read in February 2022

Best_Books_Of_February_2022

This is a catch up post, but includes the five books I read in February 2022. 4 stars: When Sparks Fly, by Helena Hunting: Avery and Declan met in college, when Avery dated Declan’s best friend and had her heart broken. Now, Avery and Declan are best friends and roommates… but they start to become more when Avery gets in a serious car accident and is so incapacitated that Declan needs to help her with everything, and the intimacy starts to build. I really liked this sweet rom com, even if it was a bit predictable. This was the first …

What I Read in January 2022

Best_Books_Of_January_2022

This is a catch up post, but includes the four books I read in January 2022. 5 stars: Starry-Eyed Love, by Helena Hunting: London is the general manager for a successful boutique hotel in Denver, who has just gone through a breakup when a really hot guy at the bar asks her on a date; she declines, not being in the headspace for that. But a few months later, London runs into the guy, Jackson, at a business meeting – turns out he’s the billionaire CEO of a big company looking to partner with her hotel. This was a really fun …
