Weekend Recap: Copper Mountain Skiing

Saturday_Night_Spread (1)

We got a big snowstorm Thursday night, which meant my Friday morning started out taking Sadie on a five mile run through the snow drifts. I was so glad I did! Honestly, my days are always so much better when I start them with a run. Around midday, I headed up to the mountains for what would end up being my last ski weekend of the year. On my drive to Minturn, I stopped at Vail to squeeze a few runs in, but when I headed up over the top of the mountain to Sun Up Bowl, I was really …

Weekend Recap: Mom’s Birthday

Grasso_Lights_with_Family

This was a weekend I had been planning for a very long time, and I was really excited it was finally here. It kicked off on Thursday afternoon. At 2pm, I told my mom I was headed to the grocery store, and hopped into the car to take a call while driving… to the airport to pick up my dad! He and I had hatched a plan to fly him to Colorado for the weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and she had no idea. I was nervous for weeks that I was going to accidentally let it slip, but the surprise …

Teneral_Cellars_and_Thai

I kicked off my weekend early, attempting to take Thursday and Friday off work. However, I ended up taking a bunch of work calls in the morning (oops) and not really accomplishing much on the workout / personal front either. As a Beaver Creek employee, I’m given a few 50% off lift ticket coupons that I can give to friends and family. (With one-day lift tickets …

Weekend Recap: Three Day Spring Ski Weekend

4_Mile_Minturn_Run

Another three day weekend off from consulting – I headed up to the mountains Thursday night in order to teach Friday! When I got up to Minturn Thursday night, I wasn’t feeling well – a little bit dizzy, like the altitude had hit me extra hard. So that night, I went to bed early and slept pretty hard, and woke up Friday morning wishing I could sleep longer. A quick 20 minute Peloton core class and 10 minute arms & toning class helped, and I was happy I got all that in. I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast (Trader Joe’s pretzel …

Weekend Recap: Spring Break Ski Lessons

Student_First_Chairlift

This weekend was the start of spring break for many Americans (though in Colorado we do ours a week later), which meant it was a prime weekend / week for teaching skiing. I had signed up to work Sunday and Monday, taking a vacation day from my consulting job to do so. However, the impending blizzard meant I actually needed to head out to the mountains Friday in order to beat the storm, as I was worried the roads would close… so I signed up to teach on Saturday as well. My mom was a little reluctant to be left …
