Race Report: Move It for the Music 5K

Visiting_Luzerne_Music_Center

Race run on July 6th, 2019 Craig had a bachelor party scheduled the weekend of July 4th, and my firm gives us all of July 4th week off – so I figured the second weekend of the break would be a great one for me to make a quick solo getaway. I always find it difficult to plan trips to other places (when I am on vacation, I just want to be home, since I travel so much for work), but by then, I would have already had eight days in Superior. As good a time as any to visit …

Race Recap: Superior Mile

Superior_July_4th_Parade_2019

Race run on July 4, 2019 Last Thursday morning was the annual Superior Mile. While this has become an annual tradition for me, this year’s event was a little different than in years past! Craig had an 8am flight, so our alarm was set for 5:30am. I figured I’d get him out the door, then have plenty of time to get ready and leave for the 7:00am race start. However, somehow time got away from me and I didn’t end up getting out the door until 6:45am. Yikes! Thank goodness the start was only five minutes away. I parked my …

Race Report: Broncos 7K

Race report from Saturday June 29 My firm gives us the entire week of July 4th off – amazing! This year, my break kicked off with a race – the Broncos 7K in Fort Collins. I had a busy work day on Friday, mixed with volunteering at Meals on Wheels and Rock Creek School, but wrapped it by heading over to Louisville to celebrate the grand opening of my friend Heidi’s new photography studio. I had originally thought I’d head home early for a healthy dinner, but my friend Chris and her husband invited me over for champagne at their …

Weekend Recap: Ragnar Snowmass and High Country Hiking

Weekend of June 7-9 This weekend, I was headed out for the mountains for the first time in months. I skied my last day of the season on April 7, and hadn’t been back to Eagle County since! I was really excited to get out to my mountain house and check on a few things there, plus see what it was like there in the summer. But first… I headed out to Aspen for Ragnar Snowmass. My friend Sarah had organized a fabulous team over the last few months for this trail Ragnar, but in the last month before the …

Race Report: Bolder Boulder 10K

Bolder_Boulder_Stadium_2019

Race report from May 27, 2019 I signed up for the Bolder Boulder several months ago, as has become tradition. (I love having a Memorial Day running tradition – it used to be Vermont City Marathon, now it’s Bolder Boulder!) However, I really haven’t been running much, and expected I’d be much slower this year than in years past. Which is fine – if I haven’t been training, I can’t expect much, right? I had a blast running a lot of miles at Ragnar Virginia, which helped me realize that maybe my endurance is better than I expected. But then I totally …
