Should Fitness Studios Ban Their Competition?

A friend is hoping to launch a new fitness studio in NYC later this fall. I’m not going to say too much about the concept, since that’s really his news, but it’s completely different than anything I’ve seen in NYC so far. I’m really excited for it to open, and will definitely keep you posted on details! Since my schedule is crazy busy with travel and he’s pretty busy as well, for our next catch up, we decided to do a morning workout and then grab breakfast afterward. Gotta love having friends who love working out as much as I …

Food is Fuel

On Thursdays, I typically eat pretty lightly. While I have my normal breakfast, my lunch tends to be something grabbed very quickly – a cup of soup or a protein bar – since I have to leave the office early to fly home, and I want to get as much done as possible before I go. Since my dinner is on the plane, I usually grab either a sandwich or some summer rolls/sushi to bring with me. Certainly nothing earth shattering, but that tends to be a lot lighter than my normal travel dinners, which are more likely to be …

Burning the Candle at Both Ends

This weekend was really, truly excellent – but with a catch. Despite my Thursday night flight home being very delayed, I managed to get a decent night’s sleep – and woke up on Friday feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I was able to sneak in a Refine Method class before starting work for the day, and that just got the day (and the month of February!) off to a great start. On Friday evening after work, I went to dinner with my former broker – he found the lovely apartment that I’ve been living in for six years, and we make …

Weekend Roundup / Why Soreness Doesn’t Matter

My weekend didn’t get off to a great start – but that didn’t mean I couldn’t recover. On Thursday night, I ended up getting quite upset about something – and literally staying up all night long stressing out. Not good at all! At 1am, I went online to cancel my Friday morning Refine Method class, since I could already foresee this being a bad night. I didn’t want to give up on my challenge (especially after my very public commitment to extend my work out daily challenge till March!), but thought I could perhaps go that evening instead of getting …

Picking My Plan B

This morning, I kicked off day 11 of my “work out every day” January challenge with not just one but two workouts: Flywheel and Refine Method. I’ve written a lot about Flywheel in the past, being a FlyAddict and all, but Refine Method is something that is very new to me – and I’m loving it. I was first introduced to Refine Method when Melissa invited me to a blogger outing – but I went into it really sore and didn’t do such a great job. So when I heard about the Refine Resolution Challenge and found out that several …
