Weekend Recap: Spring Break Ski Lessons

Student_First_Chairlift

This weekend was the start of spring break for many Americans (though in Colorado we do ours a week later), which meant it was a prime weekend / week for teaching skiing. I had signed up to work Sunday and Monday, taking a vacation day from my consulting job to do so. However, the impending blizzard meant I actually needed to head out to the mountains Friday in order to beat the storm, as I was worried the roads would close… so I signed up to teach on Saturday as well. My mom was a little reluctant to be left …

Weekend Recap: French Wine Tasting and Impromptu Stapleton Half Marathon

French_Wine_Cheese_Tasting

My Friday night kicked off with lots of my favorite people: J and I had a Zoom double date with my friends Heather and Kirk, and then we watched Great British Bake-Off with my mom! It was a great mix of “social time” (at home) and time cozied up on the couch (though mom has her own couch across the room, to keep a bit more distance). Weekend Recap: Kelly’s 35th Birthday!

Dirty_Codenames

Weekend of November 8-10 I would have to say my weekend kind of kicked off on Thursday last week, as two of my analysts flew into town to visit Denver for the weekend! I was really excited to get to spend more time with them outside of the office 🙂 Julia and Spencer were staying at my friend Sara’s apartment downtown (Sara is a senior associate at my company), and we convened at Sara’s place Thursday night to kick off the festivities. There were lots of laptops out as we all mixed catching up with finishing up some work that …

Sidelined from my Favorite Pastimes

Infected_Leg_No_Exercise_Or_Drinking

There are a few posts I’ve been remiss in not yet writing. I want to write a recap of my July Eat the Frog challenge (which I loved), I want to finish the draft I’ve started of my Mammoth Running Escape vacation in California (which I also loved), and I want to write about my goals for the month of August. Unfortunately, that last one is really hard for me right now. My planned goal for the month of August was to train to break my PR (21:39) in the 5K. I was really pumped about potentially achieving that, and …
