What I Read in November 2017

Best_Books_Of_November_2017

I read seven books in November, which is a few less than in October, but still a decent amount. Unfortunately, I wasn’t wowed by too many books this month, but I made up for that with the last book I read in November, Drop the Ball, which was easily one of the best books I’ve read all year. And that brought my total for the year to 96 books, which means I only need to read 4 books in the month of December in order to reach my goal of 100 books for 2017. Easy peasy! 5 stars: Drop the …

What I Read in October 2017

Best_Books_Of_October_2017

I read a lot more in October than in September – particularly during my weekend in Spain. Because I was traveling solo, I took most of my meals accompanied by a book, and I ended up finishing a book each day I was there! I’m now up to 89 books read this year, which is 6 books ahead of schedule to reach my goal of 100 books for the year. I’ve got the goal squarely in sight, and I’m looking forward to closing out the last two months of the year of reading with a flourish! 5 stars: The Culture …

What I Read in September 2017

Best_Books_Of_September_2017

As I predicted a few weeks ago when I wrote up my books read in August, September was a light reading month for me – I read just five books last month. That puts me at 78 books for the year, which is still four books ahead of schedule to reach my goal of 100 books for the year. That means I’m still on track, but I can’t afford any more slacking! I’m hoping to step up my game in October. 5 stars: My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, by Amy Silverstein: Loved this memoir, which made me tear …

What I Read in August 2017

Best_Books_Of_August_2017

Well, this post is coming to you quite late! September has been an extremely busy month, and although it’s not over yet, I already know I’m going to be at an all-time low for books read in a month. But going back to last month: I read seven books in the month of August, which puts me at 73 books for the year (as of September 1st) – six books ahead of schedule to reach my goal of 100 books for the year. Let’s see if that little lead is enough to keep me afloat when I don’t have many books …

What I Read in July 2017

Best_Books_Of_July_2017

July was a little bit of a slower month for me, reading-wise. I read six books in the month of July, though I also got partway through a few others that I’m finishing up this week. I’m currently at 66 books for the year, which is 7 books ahead of schedule to reach my goal of 100 books. Still on track, but I need to pick it back up! 5 stars: Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: I loved every bit of this short book, and highly recommend it to any women, anyone …
