What I Read in June 2020

Best_Books_Of_June_2020

Another solid month of reading for me! With starting to see my friends a bit more, it wasn’t quite as high as April and May’s tally of twelve books each, but I still managed to read eight books this month, or two per week. That brings me to 53 books read this year, which is 3 books ahead of where I need to be to hit 100 books in 2020. I think this is the first year I’ve ever been ahead at the halfway point! I feel good about keeping the momentum up, though – the more I read, the …

What I Read in May 2020

Best_Books_Of_May_2020

May was a big month of reading thanks to quarantine – as with April, I read 12 books this month! That puts me 4 books ahead of schedule on my goal of reading 100 books in 2020, which is the first time in several years I’ve been ahead of my goal. Now, the challenge will be to keep up this level of reading (which I truly love) even as I start socializing a bit more. 5 stars: Anna K: A Love Story, by Jenny Lee: Love love LOVED this modern teenage take on Anna Karenina! I was really impressed by …

Best_Books_Of_April_2020

Quarantine has me spending a lot of time reading! I read 12 books in April, which means I’m now right on track to meet my goal of 100 books for 2020. But if I keep this up, I’ll be ahead of things fairly soon. This is the first time in several years I’ve been ahead for this goal, which feels great! I am loving the opportunity to read more, and hope I can keep this as part of my routine even when I start getting out more. 5 stars: Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your …

My COVID Vacances

Beret_COVID_Vacances

On Tuesday, I took a day off work and went on vacation… to France! Well, in my imagination 🙂 At work, we’re having an issue where no one is taking their vacation time. Not only could this be an issue when things start getting back to normal (someday? Maybe?) and everyone suddenly wants to take weeks of vacation at the same time, but it also means that staff aren’t taking the breaks they need to rest and recharge. Speaking for myself, I am busier now and working longer hours than I was pre-COVID19, and I know I’m going to burn …

What I Read in March 2020

Best_Books_Of_March_2020

Turns out I can make up a lot of reading ground when I’m isolating at home! I read 10 books in the month of March, which means I’m now only three books behind schedule on my goal to read 100 books in a year. I’m guessing this will finally be a year I reach my goal, or maybe even go a little bit over! This month, I gave five stars to several books – mostly novels that helped me escape the real world a bit. With all the stress in the world, I’m trying to read stuff more for fun …
