Getting my exercise on!

Last night, I had far too many beers – six. According to that study, that’s the average a white woman drinks in a month! What can I say, I’ve always been one to live by the motto of “go big or go home.” However, “going big” on beer is not so good for my waistline. Lately I’ve been really unhappy with the way my stomach is starting to pooch out – I don’t look my best in fitted dresses like I used to! I don’t think I’ve been eating THAT terribly, but it’s definitely time for a change – I’m …

What a weekend!

Normally when I visit a friend for the weekend (or even when I host a friend myself), we keep things pretty quiet. I tend to plan most of my trips/tours around eating the local fare (yum!), so I usually just figure out the key restaurants/bars I want to hit, and then play it by ear in between. Not this weekend! However, all of that was trumped when I walked …

Catch Up

Gosh, I suck at posting. But I’m on a plane right now and reading Maureen Lipinski’s Not Ready for Mom Jeans (hilarious novel about a blogger who just became a new mom… reminds me of Jenn Lancaster‘s style), and her blogging has inspired me to get back on the horn. Get ready for the rundown! So the short version of the past week… worked my butt off in Chicago on a new project, worked my belly off at the gyms in Chicago as part of our firm’s fitness challenge (first day: 1.5 hours of elliptical, 30 minutes of strength training. …

Laura Does Chicago

I started a post entitled “Laura does Dallas,” but it sat on my desktop instead of getting finished and posted on Blogger, and now I’m no longer in Dallas… I’ve traded it in for Chicago. Woo! So to catch you all up to speed… After a fabulous fourth of July weekend (in which I flew halfway across the country for a second date with a guy I met the week before – yes, I am bold) and an amazing 25th birthday (in which I celebrated reaching my 50×25 goal by drinking tons of craft beer and celebrating with so many …
