Finding a Home for My Best Self

Back when I went through my company’s senior associate leadership development program, I was assigned a career coach who worked with me in a group setting and also one-on-one. The coaches were all external (meaning, they didn’t work for my firm), so these weren’t people we’d see in a day-to-day setting. I absolutely loved my coach, Starla, and we’ve stayed in touch over the years. She was more excited than anyone when I was selected to be the orchestrator for the program, and it was wonderful to get to see her in the fall when I was back in California… but …

Take a Moment For You (Sponsored by Evolution Fresh)

Closet_Partially_Organized

My week off from work has been amazing! I’ve had time to get a lot of things done around the house – from reupholstering my dining room chairs, to building shelving for my master closet, to building a wine cabinet and bookshelf for my basement rec room. (Lots of building!) I also went on a big home shopping spree at Tuesday Morning to get new pillows for my couches and new curtains for a lot of windows, and also hit some of the post-Christmas sales to get discounted holiday decorations for next year. I have received information from the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post. This post is coming to you from in flight, surprisingly enough. Saturday is usually the least-traveled day of the week, and Saturday afternoon is really the quietest time of all for flights, since most people don’t want to break up their weekend (or their day). But this weekend, I am splitting my time between Arizona (for Adam’s son’s birthday) and Colorado (for skiing and general homemaking before I head back to Dallas). Adam’s son had a really awesome birthday party on …

Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas

Christmas_Tree

I’ve been in something of a funk lately. Nothing is drastically wrong, per se, and on Thanksgiving, I certainly had plenty to be thankful for. But at the same time, the holiday had some stress before and after that made me not quite as thrilled with Thanksgiving as I usually am. Tomorrow is the first day of December, though, which means the holiday season is truly upon us – and it’s time for me to cheer up and start fa-la-la-la-la-ing with the best of them. One of the things I did really enjoy this weekend was shopping for Christmas decorations …
