I have a new addition to my room. I ordered it online while drunk about a month ago and it came promptly, but finally today I took the time to color it in and put it up. Montana and Texas have now become high priority states for me to run. Look how much white I’ll get to fill in if I run those! Nearly passing out from exhaustion while simply walking across the office, and having to schedule a doctor’s appointment for tomorrow instead of running the marathon.

How to lift weights in your hotel room when there are no weights (or water bottles) to be found

Somehow knowing I’ll have to McGyver a workout routine motivates me to actually do it. Please note that I’ve been home and around an actual gym and weights for at least two months, yet haven’t done any lifting until now. Thank goodness for hotel lamps and ottomans and coffee tables!

Running through transitions (alternate title: Getting back on track after you failed to transition)

How perfect that today’s Take It and Run Thursday topic is Running Through Transitions! I’ve been MIA thanks to dealing with the transition of starting a new project. Unlike other fields, in consulting, starting a new project is like starting a new job: new coworkers, new responsibilities, new culture, and even new commutes.
