Upcoming Event: Uncorked Kitchen Fall Festival

Adam and I got back on Monday morning from a weekend in Atlanta, which it kicked off the beginning of three weekends in a row that we get to spend together… yay! Last weekend we were in Atlanta visiting some of Adam’s friends, this weekend we are taking Adam’s son to Disneyland, and the following weekend Adam is coming to visit me in Colorado. On that final weekend, even though we’ll be staying at home, I wanted to organize a fun date night that was really special… so we’ll be taking a Fall Flavors cooking class at Uncorked Kitchen.

A wine bar with a view of the mountains, plus cooking classes on the other side? This is basically my dream spot for a date night.

Uncorked Kitchen reached out to me to let me know about their Fall Festival on October 15th. It sounds like an awesome event! The afternoon is free and open to the public, and there will be hands-on demos, pumpkin decorating for kids, live music, and of course, plenty of food and drink samples. Later that night, Uncorked will be hosting a ticketed VIP event from 6pm-8pm. The VIP event will kick off with a cocktail party in the wine bar with appetizers. Guests will then get to mingle with Uncorked’s chefs for the Uncorked Chef Showdown, where each chef will prepare an original menu item to be judged by a panel. Guests can sample each of the chefs’ creations and finish the evening off by trying their hand at flaming and enjoying their own crème brulee. How fun!

The afternoon event is free, and you can use this link to register; if you’d like to attend the swanky evening VIP event, tickets are priced at $49 and you can click here to purchase. Uncorked Kitchen will donate a portion of the proceeds from each ticket to the Cancer League of Colorado in honor of Mary J. Koert, the mother of Uncorked’s owner Katie Robbins. My own mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I’m always grateful for organizations like the Cancer League, who put 100% of all donations toward cancer research and patient care.

Unfortunately, Adam and I are already booked for a friend’s welcome-to-Colorado party the night of the Uncorked Fall Festival. It seems that all the cool kids are moving to Colorado! So we’re excited to instead get a taste of Uncorked at one of their date night events, with the theme of Fall Cooking. On Friday October 14th, we’re going to learn how to make pomegranate delicata squash, pumpkin gnocchi with sage butter sauce, cider braised pork with cranberries and apple compote, and spiced apple pound cake. Yum! It’s been getting chilly here, so I’m all about those warm autumnal recipes. (And, I’m hosting a fall-themed party at my house the following weekend, where I intend to put these recipes to good use.) Our class is already sold out, but Uncorked offers plenty of other classes as well. Check out the date night and adult event calendars, as well as a special calendar of classes for kids/teens.

I’ll post more about the date night and cooking experience afterward, but wanted to let you all know ASAP about the Fall Festival in case you’re a Colorado local and want to check it out 🙂

  1. Hey, save me a copy of those soul-warming recipes from the cooking class. That sounds like one yummy meal! Have fun, you two! 🙂
