Aaawwwww…Two of my favorite ideas: personal responsibility and autonomy. Do I love myself, my family, my neighbor, and my stranger that I don’t know enough to let them make a mistake and potentially not recover from it? Do you really love someone – truly – if you don’t allow them to fully recover and grow from their mistake? (BTW I’m not saying I would idly stand by while a mistake is happening, but it’s how we approach a situation that makes all the difference in the world.)

I’m reading a book on how to raise your kids right now that deals with a lot of these same concepts. I am generally a “let other people make their mistakes” person, but I can see how that would be REALLY hard for people you love.
