Blocking my Time with PTO

Short and sweet post today, but I wanted to share what a successful day I had at work. I had originally requested today as a PTO day, so that I could spend time with a visiting houseguest. I blocked off my calendar, shifted all meetings to Wednesday and Friday, and started working my butt off to ensure that I could have all the loose ends tied up and be able to take the day off. Since my company’s fiscal year runs from July to June, this is the time of year that everyone gets nervous about promotions and performance reviews. My Energy Audit: Making Great Strides!

I know it’s only Wednesday, but wow, what an amazing week so far! I’m out in sunny California to observe a training program that all our senior associates go through shortly after promotion, and preparing to potentially take on a part-time role helping to deliver the program in the future.
