The Monday Night Plan

Today has been a long day. On Mondays, I wake up at 5am in order to dash to the airport for my 6:30am flight. (I used to get up at 4:30am until I learned to shower and dry my hair the night before… apologies to coworkers for my messy hair and often complete lack of makeup on Mondays.) Inspired by books

Yesterday, I finished book #3 in my quest to read a book every other day for the month of September: You Are An Ironman, by Jacques Steinberg. I actually didn’t love it quite as much as I expected, as I found some of the training stories to be boring. But when it came to race day, I was hooked! I loved hearing about how everyone did, and the thoughts that went through their head as they toiled to make the 17 hour cutoff. Pushing it too hard

Today I woke up in a great mood – and, for once, recognizing that life was great. I actually hadn’t slept very well due to some nightmares, but when I thought about what the nightmares were about (as stupid as it sounds, I dreamed that I sent a rude reply to a coworker’s email and that my boss called me out on it), I realized that life had to be good if something that silly could keep me up at night! September Means Back to the Books

After I wrote Friday’s post about not really wanting to drink… I changed my mind. And probably drank more in the last weekend than I have in a long time. Oops! Like a 21 year old on their birthday, drinking was a novelty that was too fun to pass up – and when combined with a wedding that reunited me with my NYU sorority sisters, it was even harder to resist.
